For puppies and pregnant dogs, begin by feeding the suggested daily amount; for nursing dogs, provide free access to food 3-6 times per day. Feeding instructions vary depending upon your dog's weight, age, sex, etc.; see label for complete feeding instructions; your pet may need more or less food to maintain proper weight; adjust as needed; if you are unsure, ask your veterinarian.
If feeding to your dog for the first time, mix increasing amounts of your pet's new food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 7-day period. When using with Science Diet dry food, decrease the amount of canned food to avoid overfeeding. Cover and refrigerate unused portion.
