DESCRIPTION: Sileo Gel for Dogs contains the active ingredient Dexmedetomidine. This oromucosal gel is useful in treating noise aversion in dogs. It is the first and only FDA-approved prescription formulated for this condition. It delivers a low dose of medication, allowing your dog to function and interact normally, but to also remain calm.
Key Benefits: Sileo works by blocking norepinephrine, a chemical within the brain that is known to accelerate anxiety (similar to adrenaline).
Formulated For: Intended for dogs 16 weeks of age and older.

Administer the first dose when you detect a noise stimulus (like fireworks) that elicits fear or anxiety, right after your dog shows noise-related fear or anxiety symptoms, or about 30 to 60 minutes before an anxiety-causing stimulus. If the bothersome noise lasts more than 2 to 3 hours and anxiety or fear returns, administer another dose. Allow for 2 hours between doses, administering no more than 5 doses per event.
