I got one today! I put it in a small tank with my African frog at first, Cuz it's kind da small. I didn't want to put it in the 75 gal. yet. Didn't want him to be eaten. Looks kinda like a worm. So maybe in a couple days. Is this OK, or should I just put him in there???

These fish are great... While there young. The will eat only snails, comets, ghost shrimp and rosy reds once they exceed 15 inches other than that they are great

Everywhere else that's a reputable fish retailer calls them by their real name Senegal bichir or Polypterus senegalus. Only Petsmart invented the name Dinosaur Bichir. /endrant
Great fish, love my three to death. the attached picture are two of the three I bought at petsmart. Started at 2 inches, the largest in the image is a foot, purchase widely, they WILL outgrow the tank they are put in.
