Initially, my cat was terrified of this box. He always used a dome box with scoop litter so the crystals freaked him out. Wouldn't t touch it for a week. I had to completely cover the crystals with his regular litter and he finally used it 3 days later. The scooping litter attached itself to the rake, so it already needs a cleaning the first week in. The crystals don't seem to track like regular cat litter which is great and there's no smell once the rake slides the solid waste to the receptical. I do wish that the hood didn't have to be removed to see if the receptical is full, but that's a minor issue since it is easy to pop on and off. Just awkward in tight spaces. I'm not sure it will last 30 days between replacement trays. I only have 1 cat, but the solid waste container already seems kind of full. The rake is relatively quiet and does a great job of leveling out the litter after the cat goes in. I love the counter because I can be certain the cat is using it. Cat is finding joy in always having a fresh box and storage of replacement trays is much more convenient than big boxes of litter since they are narrow enough to fit between the washer and the wall. While not an economical solution, this box is a huge time saver. If it works for years to come my cat and I will be very happy.

Have 2 ; they say leave it alone for 30 days, the truth is 1/2 of that otherwise the ammonia smell will drive you out of your home and its the most expensive system out there. Still looking for a better solution.

I've owned this product for three years and I'm very satisfied with it. No scooping and I just throw the tray and replace. Best of all, no moist or stinky paws! My guests never smell any odors. Love this product! My only regret is that I didn't purchase the dome!
