I have two hamsters, a winter white dwarf, and a Syrian. I also have two of these hamster balls, one for each. I have a pink one and an orange one. I personally think these are a fun and great way for your pet to get exercise! However, please do keep in mind that some hamsters and other small pets might find being trapped in a plastic ball scary and stressful. It is best to first see how your friend will react before forcing them into it. Also do not leave them unattended.
Pros: safe and secure, air holes, fun
Cons: none!
Also as a tip, I recommend setting them in an enclosed environment to keep cleanup easier and to prevent them getting lost or tumbling down the stairs. :)

I had this ball for a while and I REALLY liked it. I had a female Fancy Bear Hamster and she was still young, so she was so hyper and really fast. While I cleaned her cage I'd put her in this ball. She'd only stay in it for around ten minutes but after I got done cleaning her cage she would've already traveled half way across my house! The only bad part is the air holes; sometimes my hamster would go to the bathroom and it would fall through. But usually I'd just put her on something I could clean up or I'd put the ball on paper towel lol. Sadly my hamster died but I still loved this ball! RIP Coco.

When I had gerbils, they would get restless (even though they had a wheel in their cage) if they didn't have ball-time on the floor. I'd let them out in the mornings as I was getting ready for school/work and in the evenings as I was getting ready for bed. They'd follow me around the apartment and run after each other. Definitely recommend. I have one for my mice, but haven't tried it yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rachellie I got this for my rat, not really expecting her to use it, because I heard that most rats get bored easily with these. I figured we would try it anyways just to see.
When I put her in it I could tell that she didn't like it because she seemed desperate to escape, so I immediately took her out. Instead of throwing it away, however, I found that she liked to sleep in the ball without the lid on it. She likes to stuff pieces of newspaper inside it and take a nap. So even though its original purpose didn't work out, it still makes her really happy and the quality of the product has lasted through her chewing attempts. It's also really easy to wash with regular soap and water whenever her cage needs a clean.
