My cat loves this toy she gets loves to hunt this toy and I don't know it there is a smell to the the feathers but when I hide the toy when we're done playing my cat is smelling the air trying to find the toy and she does. It's a great toy best thing I ever got for my cat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pcmala Pros: Best movement I have seen in a cat toy. The feathers flutter like a small bird or butterfly. This is the first toy in a long time my older cat (17) actually got excited by. I was able to get her to jump up and grab it. Being able to extend the pole and the thinness of the line the feathers are on allow much better movement and really keeps the attention of both my cats. It also allows flexibility of height you can make them jump and how close you need to be to play. Distance is good with a kitten that likes to use teeth and claws when playing and this lets them really run and jump easily. Also the removable finger laser pointer is nice because it allows you to leave it on without holding a button. Both my cats love lasers.
Cons: The mechanism to retract the string is a bit quick and startles the cats a bit. It would be cool if it could be a bit more like a fishing pool especially with the motions because they remind me a bit of a lure.
Overall: I would definitely recommend this one. Having both cats play at the same time is a great accomplishment. It hits both old and young alike and allows them to exercise which older cats really need. Love the movement of the feathers. I just hope it lasts a while with the retraction and the feathers since my little one is a rough player.
