I am extremely disappointed with this cage. As you know if you have a parrot, they get the cage pretty dirty and thus you need to be able to take it outside and hose it off. Because of the cheap construction of this cage and the quick and dirty paint job, I'm already seeing lots of rust - even though I've only had the cage for a few months. You can dry a cage all you want, but water gets trapped in all kinds of places, especially on a cage like this that is made of so many different pieces you have to assemble - which they do to make it easy to ship. (Btw...there were many spots on the cage that were missing paint when I received it. The cage came with a small jar of touch up paint that smelled soooo toxic. I tried touching up one spot and the entire room smelled of the paint - even after I scrubbed and scrubbed to get it off.) The previous cage we had for about 20 years. I think this one will be in the same shape as that one in just a few years. Also...the design is flawed, in that the skirt that goes around the cage does catch stuff from hitting the floor, but it just slides down and gets stuck against cage bars. Instead, the skirt should lead in to the bottom pan, so that stuff slides down into it for easy cleaning. (I'm going to be getting in touch with Petsmart to see about a refund and an exchange, though after four months I won't hold my breath.)

I bought this cage in cocoa. I am satisfied with it for the most part. But I had a very difficult time assembling it. Getting the nut to stay where it was supposed to be so I could get the part with the screw screwed into the part with the nut was impossible! It took me over 6 hours to get the cage put together. If there is some trick to it it was not included in the instructions. Another problem is the perches. They are awful. They are so bad that my parrot could not stand on them for more than a few minutes. Of course this made it very hard for her to sleep. I took the perch out of the cage and replaced it with a couple of good sized branch-like perches. I haven't replaced the perch ontop yet because she doesn't spend a lot of time on the playtop and when she does she is moving around and not stationary for very long. The cups on the playtop are difficult for my parrot to use. They are situated in front and below the perch so that if my parrot wants to eat from them she has to practically stand on her head to get to the food. In fact there is no way that the cups can be used. So I had to buy cups that could be attached to the inside of the cage so that she will have more than one cup for water and one cup for food. These improvements cost me an additional $50. Once I'd corrected the above deficiences the cage is serviceable and my parrot is happy. But I will buy a different brand next time I buy a cage and I can't recommend this cage to anyone else.
