Sadly, this bulb didn't work for me.
I have a 40g planted tank with 3 goldfish in it. I wanted something that would help promote plant growth, so after reading the reviews, I went with this. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.
The light cast a very noticeable purple hue across my tank since it was a solitary bulb (perhaps it wouldn't have been if my hood took two bulbs) and after being in for a week, I've noticed my plants turning brown and dying. It didn't help them at all, which is disappointing. And even if it did help, I doubt I'd have kept it. The lighting is so dim sometimes I had to check to ensure the light was actually on.
All in all, it didn't do what I wanted in any way, but I can't truly fault the product too much because some of the reviewers said outright it was purple and dim, hence the three stars. It just wasn't what I wanted. I'm going to return it for another Aqueon full spectrum.

I started using this product maybe a week and a half ago? A plant I had one thought ready to die now has new shoots and tiny leaves growing. My fish (a brilliant blue and orange betta) now seems more colorful than ever. Overall I am happy with this product, though the reason it is not a five star is because with the light being tinged blueish purple, it isn't as bright as I would have liked it.

I was using an Aqueon Full Spectrum 24 inch light for my tank, and because I have a planted tank, I decided to give this light a try. Wow. With a black background and Floramax Midnight Black Substrate it makes things look STUNNING. My Albino Rainbow Shark's red fins look neon red, it is breathtaking. The plants look great, and most importantly, it doesn't make my Clown Loaches hide sometimes like my other light did because its not so bright! PERFECT LIGHT The fish LOVE it.

I switched my Aqua glo lamp to this and what a difference! My Plants look so neon green and have been growing like crazy! My Neon tetras also glow under this light! It makes every thing seem so colorful!
