Your Hermit Crab will love to burrow in this bright colored sand. Zoo Med™ Hermit Crab Sand
Instructions: Pour contents of bag into bottom of terrarium. Depth should be 3" sloping down to 1 1/2". Remember to clean out debris as needed.
Ingredients: Calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and natural pigment.

I love this sand because it comes in a wide array of awesome cool looking unique colors. Not only that but I just had two successful molts in this sand with my two hermit crabs. Both of them came out with shiny new body's and brighter colors. Its great that this has calcium in it as well. It may be a little expensive and you will have to buy about 4 bags for the proper sand depth but really I think as long as the molt is successful in it i am fine with it. And yes, play sand may be waaay cheaper and save you money but keep in mind that play sand might have harmful fills that are bad for your hermit. I highly recommend getting this sand though.

I got this sand for my hermit crabs Gino and Shelly and they love it and they can also eat the sand to because its healthy for them.

I know this says it has calcium in it, but it's really not worth it. Just get a calcium block or something, because you're wasting your money with this. It started staining my crab the color of the sand. The bags are very small and will only fill the tank up one time and you have to replace sand once a month, which means you're spending 60 dollars a year on sand. If you only want to spend 8 dollars a year on sand, I would go to a hardware store like 84 Lumber and get a small 50 lb bag of play sand, for only 4 dollars. Lasts forever, already prescreened so that it's safe, it looks more natural like a beach, and it doesn't stain the crab. Probably gives the crabitat a more homey feel for your crab too since it's like beach sand!
