The rubber hinges between door panels lasted only one year and it can't be replaced. This is not made for Canadian winters. Perhaps if the panels were not glued together and they would supply spare rubber hinges or made them thicker and use better rubber... this would not be an issue.

I ordered this dog door as a thru the wall item, but got one that is made for a door. It does not have holes in the outside frame. I can drill these so it is not a huge deal. The door itself is double sided so it's insulation value is higher than a single flap, but when the dogs go in or out the three sections do not return to a straight up and down position (there are no magnets, just some rubber seals on the sides). So there are gaps between the seals and the panels where you can see outside. Because of this, I doubt that we will save energy.
