I bought this for my German shepherd and he absolutely loves how far the ball goes. I love how I don't have to touch his slimy ball anymore! So great for ball crazy dogs and owners who don't have strong arms/don't want to touch nasty tennis balls.

I have purchased two of these Chuckit while at the store. The first Chuckit lasted about ten minutes before one third of the ball holding section or head cracked off. There was absolutely no abuse I placed every ball exactly under the holder and pressed to load. I liked the idea and the thrower is very easy on the arm for throwing so I purchased another several months later. My wife used it for three or four sessions and again a section of the ball holding head cracked off. It was not cold outside so the plastic being brittle was not the issue. The thrower along with the balls were stored in the house pantry with his food. I have a German shepherd and he also cracked all of the balls in a short time while munching on them when running back after retrieving the balls. Never was able to throw a tennis ball as the thrower did not last that long. Perhaps the head could be designed with a little more plastic material to prevent the plastic from cracking off. Great idea just not executed well. Would love to see and purchase an update version with a new head or ball holding design.

I had seen these and wanted one for a long time, but my smaller dog just doesn't fetch. My Border Collie Lab mix puppy, however, just can't get enough of chasing balls.
These ball launchers are fantastic, even if you play baseball professionally and have a great throwing arm. I can pluck the ball right out of his mouth with the launcher and never have to touch the slobbery ball. All it takes is a flick of my wrist and the ball goes flying quite far. You can get a ball from ALMOST any company and it will fit in the launcher, but I definitely prefer the unique rubbery balls made by Chuckit (such as the whistling one!)
Cannot say enough good things about these products.

Big plus is this Chuckit handles a standard tennis ball rather than a custom size since we mostly find (and lose) free balls around the off-lead lake we walk at. Also, not hard on older elbows or shoulders like the longest Chuckit can be after a few days of consistent use.
