i Have the EX 70 and EX 30 and they are both Very good, nice and quiet! Cartridge changes are made easy with the little door on the lid for the EX 70. The EX 30 is GREAT for my aquarium, the noise is minimal and the water flow is good! same with the EX 70, very good water flow, my water is crystal clear and all water parameters are EXCELLENT! I love the TETRA brand, and if i have a questtion, Tetra always responds in a matter of time, and one time i needed a replacement, and they sent it to me within 3 days and it was PERFECT!! THANK YOU TETRA FOR SUCH A AMAZING PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought the Whisper EX45 as a primary filter and water agitator for a 40 gallon tank that I use to overwinter my KOI. The filter motor seized and is not repairable. I only use my tank for 3-5 months of the year so I expected years of performance. Very disappointed.

I have the Tetra Whisper PF10 (which I can't seem to find on their website). I've only had it about a month, but I'm not happy with it. The output is much too strong for a 10 gallon tank. The fish can't swim anywhere near it. Also, the output lip or whatever it's called sits way too far into the tank. When the tank is full of water to the proper level, the output part of the filter actually sits quite a ways under the water. In order for it not to be under water, I'd have to take an inch or inch and a half of water out of the tank. Disappointed with the product, will likely take it back.

The outflow is great. The silent operation is the best for a hob filter. I like that the impeller casing is inside the tank. The problems come with the filter cartidges. Decent start to their design with the refillable plastic cartridge. On the ex20 the cartridge shape is curved on the bottom not sure like the filter body. The pad which is inserted into the cartridge is not big enough to fill the cartridge space. The bio filter cartridge is not much better.
