I have used this bowl for two winters so far for a couple of feral cats. It has kept the water unfrozen at minus 21 degrees F. this winter. It holds about 3 quarts of water. For early winter and spring I combined it with a "Farm Innovators TC-3 Cold Weather Thermo Cube" that turns on at 35 deg and off at 45 deg. and all is good.

I came online to buy another. I have two already and use a multiheaded 12 gauge ext. cord plugged into our outside outlet. (just make sure it can handle the current).
I put water and wet cat food out for the feral colony I care for (all spayed/neutered). For the wet food, I add two tablespoons of water per can or two of food and it keeps it from drying out - and liquids from freezing.
My only disappointment is that they're not sold online and out of stock in the local store.

This bowl holds a lot of water and is very high quality and durable. Keeps water in liquid form even in very cold conditions.
