When I bought my two female gerbils I had this cage with an aquarium bottom. The problem I had with this cage is that the verbals chewed up the tunnels even with all the chewy treats I got them. I also had an issue with one of my gerbils not being able to get up the tunnel or being too afraid to climb the tunnel. The tunnels are also very small not big enough for anything bigger than a gerbil or hamster to climb up.
