I just got mine in today! I needed something, especially for my 3yr old, because he gets really excited and is reactive to other animals. After trying it out for a few minutes on the driveway, I could tell a drastic...drastic difference. While my dog did pull some (which resistance naturally comes with any new experience), compared to before it felt like nothing. Not to add that my landlord's cat was just sitting near my front door. My dog didn't bark and pull like crazy as previously, as it was easier to redirect him. I even managed to get him to sit down. He was fixated on the cat...but I'll take that for now versus his intense reaction of pulling and barking.
Now that I know how it fits, and see that it works amazingly, I will buy another for my 9yr old dog. He doesn't pull much but is more of a barker, especially when I walk them together and the excitement just transfers everywhere. Both are mixed pit/lab. I bought a medium for my 45-50lb dog. I'll definitely need a large for my 60-65lb dog. Basing off my first time experience, I strongly suggest this product.

I use to be a dog trainer, and now I'm a vet tech. I have always recommended this to everyone who has a pulling dog. I just adopted a 80 lbs APBT.... he's strong as helll. the Gentle Leader works for him to an extent, but ended up making a red mark across the top of his snout. I just think they need to develop one that works better for dogs with big heads and shorter snouts. All the dogs in their videos and examples are hound breeds with longer snouts. thats all. otherwise, great product.

My 162 pound Newfoundland was hurting my arm because she was pulling so hard on walks. I put this collar on and all pulling stopped! Truly remarkable, even on the first time out. I would highly recommend. It comes with clear step by step instructions on how to put the collar on. I read through them in a glance and was ready to go. Ten stars for enabling me to walk with my pal again.

I have a 1 year old rescue who was always sort of leash reactive, but during the terrible winter we had she wasn't outside on a daily basis where there was a lot of people and other dogs. Now that it's nice out again I tried walking her about 10 different times and it was a nightmare. She barked, lunged, and whined at every person and dog that came close to us (funny thing is she isn't agressive to people or dogs, just a little nervous around them at first). I heard good things about the GL so I bought it. After many treats and positive association to get it on her, she is a new dog. She gets better with each day I use it. I found the trick to be to give the leash a little tug when I saw her staring at another person or dog for too long to snap her out of her focus and it's been working like magic. It's almost like a completely different dog and I now look forward to walks again instead of dreading them. If there is anything negative about this product it is that it leaves a visible mark across the muzzle but that usually goes away a few minutes after the GL is taken off (and it is not because it is too tight).
