Rated 4 out of 5 by TamSoccer 46 gal SeaClear bowfront tank saltwater set-up
For saltwater set-up this tank takes a little extra time and effort in collecting all the necessary add-on parts. You must add an adequate light hood to support whatever sea life you choose, whether fish or invertibrate (I suggest a 36" Coralife combo compact hood suspended over the tank) and a protein skimmer specifically designed to fit this unit must be purchased as well as an extra air pump. A light timer is helpful for use with your hood. The all in one filtration set up makes it a little more diffucult to do water changes than a regular tank because of the decreased room in the top opening of the tank, but for people needing to conserve space this is a great feature. On the down side, if you ever have to clean the bio filter due to a power outage and a reef kill, good luck getting all those bioballs out of the back compartment! A five year olds hand size will be VERY helpful to fish out all those balls for cleaning. Be careful placing your live rock as it can and will scratch the acrylic facing and sides. Saltwater algea can be a problem to get completely off the acrylic and daily scraping with an acrylic product is advisable. Also to maintain a steady temperature using a compact hood, an extra fan may be needed during the daylight cycle to keep the tank from overheating, otherwise you may need a chiller. All in all a great compact unit for the hobbiest short on space or needing to fit a saltwater tank into a tight space. I have mine built into a wall under a stairway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ricky Very Nice Tank !
The appearance of this tank is very nice. The built in filter in the back is very efficient, clean, and easy to setup/maintain.
I would recommend attaching a small air pump to the bio-filter tube to create more oxygen for the bacteria to grow and the filter to work properly. The instructions mention this as "optional", but after spending the money on a tank like this you might as well make the setup as effective as possible. I added a $20 - Rena 100 Air pump.
I love my new tank! My only complaint is that having the fliter built into the back does take space away from the 46 gallon area that the fish could enjoy. But I would still recommend this setup. 5-Stars!

not your traditional aquarium! The bow front really makes the fish seem like they're coming into YOUR living space...my boyfriend liked this one so much, he went on to buy another one for his office that was over 150 gallons!
