I have been using Tetra bio-filters for 30 years with great success. The big problem is having to buy the soft pad as part of a kit. The soft pads barely last a season and then I have to buy the whole kt , just to get the soft pads. You need to make the soft pads available without the course pads.

Something is different with the black fiber pad. It comes apart. The blue foam part is fine. I used to be able to wash these pads out twice a month and replaced them twice a year. Now the black one comes apart very quickly. Hope you will go back to the higher quality black pad filter.

The black filter pad is junk! Does not hold up. Tetra Pond, please fix this problem! Otherwise this filter works great. Have had this filter for 10+ years, until now it has been wonderful.

I have a Clearchoice Biofilter PF-3 & have used it for years. I have always been happy with the replacement pads until recently. Beginning late last year, the "fine" pad was altered and is of extremely poor quality. Because I have a koi pond, I need to rinse out the pads frequently to keep everything running clear & I would do a total replacement of the pads about every month or so. With the new material used in the fine pad, the rinsing out is not really a good option. The material pulls, stretches out of shape and degrades very quickly. I am MOST disappointed. The price of these pads have gone up, like everything else, but the quality has gone down. I am thinking of going elsewhere to puchase bulk pad material and making my own pads.
Has anyone else noticed this deterioration of product quality?
