We've had the Liter Maid for years but it finally
Broke. Wasn't sure I wanted this type of box again since we keep it in our laundry room and it has no cover, and it requires special trays and often had a dirty rake. This box doesn't require any special stuff and works great. When our liter maid broke I was scooping it by hand and getting that close to the box is no fun.
I was worried that the omega box would spill liter out of the opening but it does not. You do have to roll it almost onto the top of the box until you hear the clunk of clumped waste hitting the top, then roll it back all the way to its other side to distribute the liter back in the pan evenly. There are arrows on the top showing this but I didn't roll it far enough the first time. You never have to go scooping in a box again. Love having a top so our dogs aren't looking for treats so easily. This is much cheaper than the ones that scoop waste automatically and require power, special trays or boxes and omega work great. Have to admit I really wanted an automatic box again that required no daily work from me but they all their have issues. Liter Maid's rake always had poo stuck to it, reviews say the one that uses expensive refill crystal liter doesn't rake the urine. Based on that, and lots of reading reviews, I decided this was worth a whirl. This was a great purchase and no regrets.

I absolutely love this litter box, I have the larger one, & just ordered this one, the smaller version, I ordered the 2nd one to have to use when I'm soaking & washing the other one, I actually like the smaller one best, as it is easier, but they are great, no more scooping litter! I highly recommend this litter box.

I've had this along with a normal litter box for my 2 males. This one is so easy to clean and you don't need to use a ton of litter either, it definitely saves you litter because you don't have to dump the whole thing out. I clean it out in the bathtub every few months in case one of the cats have looser stools or if it just gets a little stinky. Not difficult to clean. This is much better than a normal litter box. Those who are complaining, stick to the normal litter box then and scoop them out manually while I just turn my box over, tap the bottom a few times, pull the drawer out and voila! I'm done!
