You cannot see up to the top of this product where the reptiles like to hide! When I introduced this in my snakes viv, I thought my snake escaped his tank and searched my house for days looking for him because he had gone all the way up to the top where you cannot see from any angle even with a flashlight! After a few days with no sign of him, I decided to search the tank one last time before assuming he was gone forever. It wasn't until I submerged this product in water that my snake finally poked his head down out of the small tight tip of the branch. He did not come out for a week! I called Petsmart to see how I should handle it, and the lady said she had to break the item with a hammer to get her snake out because hers was stuck, but I decided not to break mine because I could tell he was coming out for water at night, so I didn't want to risk hurting him if I did not have to. Not knowing whether or not a snake is in its tank is not something I (or anyone I lived with) were okay with so I removed this product from my viv the moment I noticed he was no longer inside. DO NOT BUY unless you intended to stuff the top of this with cotton or something.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dragoncat For young reptiles only.
I think that you should only get this bog wood for small reptiles,(and fish). It works out great for my bearded dragon, but now she is almost eight months old. She will not fit anymore. Leopard geckos should be fine- as long as they are not over fed. (fat) I also would recommend this for baby bearded dragons, geckos, snakes, or frogs. They could hid in it more. (Not when frogs are tadpoles though.)I hope you enjoyed learning about the Bog Wood.

This looks good in my ball python habitat and he enjoys it but had to take it out due to him actually getting stuck in it.

This log looks really cool and my beardy liked it but there are too many folds and holes for crickets to hide in. Great if you don't feed live food though.
