Top Fin 20 Gallon Aquarium Starter Kit
A Good Starter Set That Will Need Some Upgrades
I bought this set and it isn't bad, but it does have some flaws.
The hood and LED lights are good.
AS FOR THE FILTER, it is really loud and hangs over the back. I set it up in my bedroom and I had to shut it off so I could sleep. It sounds sort of like a coffee maker making coffee, only it is a little louder and never shuts off. I bought a quiet canister filter and removed the one that came with the set. The filter that comes with it will work fine as long as you are in a sort of loud area where there are a lot of constant noises, or you set it up in an area where you never really hang out at in your house like a dark basement. You can't use the filter if you are planning on putting it in a bedroom, study area, or other place in your house that you would like to keep kind of quiet.
The heater is just ok. It has a small knob that you can turn, but no numbers to tell you what you are setting it at. You have to use trial and error until you get the right temperature.
In the end it might be cheaper to just buy everything separate and buy the really good equipment to start with. It won't take long before you start pricing the upgrades, if you buy this starter set.

Perfect for 14+ ages. Highly recommended
If you are a fish lover, try this tank. It comes with 5 LED lights that give a perfect bright to fishes and all the habitat created. The size of tank is perfect. Not too big, not too small. It fits in any bedroom, or in the family room. It also includes, the heater, the filter, the fish net, and the petsmart's water check collector, it says if the water is ready to put fishes inside. Cleaning is not a problem, if you know that you didn't need to take out fishes, or taking out all the water, you just clean every part of the tank, the filter takes all the dust and waste and after all that you change the filter. If you thinking taking a five or ten gallon tank, don't waste time and money on that, it's better to have this well designed size tank in which you can introduce lots of fishes. Top Fin is your option. I'm so satisfied, as a beginner, and a fish lover.

Good product with few faults
After two weeks, I'm satisfied with this tank. I've had three problems thus far. Even at low settings, the heater would make the tank way too warm, so I replaced the heather with a different one. The thermostat was also very difficult to read. It seemed like the entire thing was lit up, so I was never 100% sure what the temp was, so I replaced the thermostat as well. The final issue I had is with the carbon bag that came included. It took up too much room in the filter causes it to overflow resulting in all of the water not getting filtered. I simply took out the carbon bag and the filter now works just fine. The tank, lid and LED lights are perfectly fine. I would recommend this tank.

Saltwater Quarantine Tank
This kit appears to have been replaced by one with a LED hood. Nothing fancy, just enough to light up the tank. Certainly not enough for plants or corals. It has a pleasant cool white color. Unfortunately, the switch for the LED lights only has enough cord to mount on the back of the hood. I'm afraid salt creep will end up shorting it out before long. The hood itself is extremely flimsy plastic, does not have a hinged door, and fits poorly. It does have a small feeding hole, but if you need to access the water you have to remove the hood completely. You will have to be very careful removing it as it doesn't fit well and can drop in the water easily. It also collects condensation so when you remove it water will drip everywhere.
The heater is a little flaky. The included suction cup clips disintegrated within a few days. The temperature on the dial doesn't really correspond to the temperature the heater maintains. Set by trial-and-error with a decent thermometer. The included thermometer is a highly inaccurate stick-on kind.
The filter is a Top Fin 20. Seems to be adequate. I really like the filter cartridges. They have a clip on the top so you can replace the carbon or add another kind of media. The filter also has a separate sponge area for beneficial nitrogen fixing bacteria to live.
The tank itself is adequate. Sturdy with no leaks. I like the smaller footprint of this 20 High tank versus the 20 Long tank as it's easier to find a spot for in the home.
Minor annoyances really kill this kit. A better constructed hood with a hinged lid that didn't fall in the tank every time you bumped it would have earned two more stars. A better thermometer (even just a glass floater) and more reliable heater would have bumped it up to 5 stars.
