My puppy needed a water bowl for her crate and we didnt want her to lay in it and dump it. This bowl does just that for the most part. It isnt 100% stable when you attach it to the crate ( it still can be knocked to the side) It is still the best item i have found on the market.

It's very easy for even a 5 lb. puppy to turn the bowl 90 degrees and remove it. If this is a teething puppy, then both the bowl and the holder are quickly decimated and rendered useless. Even with a non-chewing older dog, a little bit of pawing can remove the bowl, snapping off a piece of the brittle plastic tab on the bottom, at which point it is no longer secure. It's a terrible design.

by MyDogAndI Do not buy this
I bought two of these crate bowls tonight, one for water and one for food. I put the first one on and made sure I did not tighten it too tight because it is just made of plastic. Before I could put anything in it, the mounting clamp broke under the weight of the empty bowl. I just thought it could have been just a defective mounting clamp, so I opened up the second one. This time I was even more mindful to make sure I was not tightening the mounting clamp too much. I just tightened it enough so the bowl would not turn sideways and dump out the food or water. I then filled the bowl with dog food. Not even ten seconds later the second bowl’s mounting clamp broke.

I love this bowl. 2 dogs whom I keep crated while working.
I recommend this bowl for it's ease of removal for cleaning, not like some where you have to remove the whole system to clean. It is unobtrusive and can be located anywhere in the crate.
