I have had a lot of trouble building this stand. I have a lot of experience with assembling kit furniture, but this stand has had mismatched holes and does not go together easily. I have had to order several replacement boards from the manufacturer (ameriwood), but it leaves me with no confidence that this stand will hold a 75 gallon tank. This is a replacement for a 60 gallon tank that broke (also from Petsmart) this summer which destroyed my entire living room. I do not recommend this stand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by papapat I just finished setting this unit up and I must say that after reading all of the negative things I found about the assembly it must be that some of those folks simply can't follow instructions. My wife and I set this unit up in less than 2 hours, with no problems encountered, and there was no item that was found to be defective in the box. The unit looks like a nice piece of furniture and it is very sturdy. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a good looking, sturdy unit that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

This aquarium stand isn't as bad as some of the other reviews make it out to be. It's pretty obvious that you won't be receiving a solid wood stand for this price, so particle board is to be expected.
When building the stand the instructions aren't exactly as clear and straight-forward as you'd like them to be, but I wouldn't call it difficult. If you've done this type of thing before it should be fairly easy to connect the dots, but if it's your first time you'll want to take it slow.
The stand itself is very aesthetically pleasing when finished, and actually looks like a piece of furniture rather than an aquarium stand. Though when regarding the structural integrity of the stand, I couldn't trust it with a fully loaded marine tank. I suggest stopping by your local hardware store and spending a few bucks for corner braces to gain a little peace of mind.
As for the some of the paint issues mentioned in the other reviews, its true that it doesn't take a whole lot for the paint to flake off. However, it's a pretty easy fix that doesn't require a whole lot of effort.
All in all this stand is decent for the price, but don't expect to get a high quality aquarium stand for under 200 dollars. Also I highly recommend waiting for it to go on sale first, I was actually able to pickup this stand for 60 bucks.

Your employees told us that putting two Oscars in a 55 gallons wouldn't work for long, sooooooo we got this tank, and canister filter, LOVE IT!!!!!. Its a beautiful set up. Canister filter fits perfectly behind one door, and there's extra room for storage. Oscars are very happy.
