GNC Pets Superfood Complex Premium Cat Powder
Cats Love It
I bought this for one cats because he has feline herpes and besides the supplement from the vet this would also help build his system up. Soooo reason for my review is I had to give it to both cats because one will always eat the others food. And it's vitamins so they both can use a little nutrition, right. After a short time cat #2 has a shinier coat. You mix it with some wet food & a little water so it all blends in and they love it.

won't eat it
Maybe this is a good nutrient supplement for cats but
mine won't eat it. I mixed it with food but no dice.

Nearly impossible to feed to my cats
So far this is the only GNC pet product that I have tried and disliked. I don't see how anyone could get the recommended amount into an entire day's worth of feedings, let alone one. We tried significantly smaller portions numerous ways (sprinkling on top, mixing in dry powder, mixing in a water and powder mix like gravy, and even syringe feeding). Out of six cats, the only ones who ate a minuscule amount mixed with strong food, were the two 5 month old kittens. They each ate about a 20th of the recommended dosage. In theory it is a great product with high nutritional value. If your kitty will eat it, then your kitty will be the healthier for it.

So far, so good
The reason I bought this is because a few months ago I lost a 6 month old Russian Blue to an illness I knew little about at the time called FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Although not technically contagious, the illness evolves from a common coronavirus that many cats are explosed to. Many cats explosed to the coronavirus just shed it and never go on to develop FIP. But some with weakened immunity go onto to develop FIP. Well, I have 2 young Russian Blues that I have since adopted after losing the one and have been particularly worried about the little boy's health - poor appetite and some malaise. I got this product because a naturalistic vet stressed how important probiotics are to building immunity and this product contains a probiotic. I'm real lucky that both the Russian Blues seem to crave this, although my other 3 cats don't seem to care for it much. Like other reviewers I only mix in about 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon into the wet food - my idea being it is better to get them to eat this and spread out the feedings (with smaller measurements) than to have them turn it down. (Geez I'm pretty sure the 1/4 to 1/2 scoop provided would discourage them eating this) The Russian Blue that I was worried about has suddenly developed a stronger appetite since I've been mixing this in - much to my relief!
