I bought one of these Ghost Cats at Petsmart over 4 years ago & it is still alive & healthy! I wasn't planning on getting him, but he was so unique I couldn't pass him up. I would say that they are very hardy fish. I had him in a 29 gallon aquarium for a few years until I upgraded to a 46 gallon. Now that I have him in a larger tank I will be adding more since they are a schooling fish. During the day he mostly hides. He's a little shy & doesn't come out often with the light is on. He mostly comes out at night when I put the Blue LED light on or when I cut the lights off. The only time I see him when the light is on is during feeding time - he kind of zooms in, feels around with his little whiskers, gets a bite to eat then heads back to his hiding spot. I can see him swimming all around my tank at night though. When people check out my fish I usually have to show them where he is, but when they see him they all LOVE him.

ghost catfish are kind of hard to take of. They belong to the siluridae catfish family. so they are one of the smallest in the family. they will eat flakes/pellets, but they will seem to "love" you if you give them worms.

They are awesome! It's so fun to look through them, but make sure you gt like at least 3 because they are school fish and if you only get 1 it might not act normal (not eating, doesn't move). They also turn white when sick or dead so keep an eye out!

Better than i expected!!
I bought one glass catfish from here several years ago in 2009, and he's still alive to this day. So don't believe that they must be kept in groups, because they don't, and he eats regularly, but hides when the tank lights are in
