We have a 29 gallon tank and added a rainbow shark. I am not sure if we got lucky or if they are truly not as aggressive as lead to believe, but I have yet to see ours picking on other fish or chasing them. Ours sticks mostly to the bottom, although sometimes he swims mid-level. The biggest thing is that they really do like to hide. We have an artificial tree root in our tank and could not figure out where our shark was disappearing to until we got a flashlight and shined it in the hole in the root and there he was swimming around inside it! I knew they liked to hide, but I just wish he came out a bit more, however it is fun when we do see him out and about!

Albino Rainbow Shark
The Albino Rainbow Shark is a recommended fish especially if you have a dark colored aquarium. This fish is a very active swimmer but likes to bully although it does not bully my group of black skirt tetras. Possibly because it has been with them since the day it was introduced to my tank.

Beautiful, Vibrant Fish, But Likes to be a Bully
I love my rainbow shark! It is a beautiful vibrant red and navy blue color. It likes to nip at my other fish but doesn't seem to hurt them! It likes to swim all around my tank, so it's not necessarily a "bottom swimmer". Overall, it's a great, beautiful fish! (:
