Tetra® Whisper In Tank Power Aquarium Filters
What a piece of junk!
We've gone through 2 of these stupid things in less than 6 months! They are junk and stop working very fast. And it's not even like the thing has to do a ton of work. We only have 1 small fish in a 5 gallon tank. I mean, if it can't handle that then why are they even selling it!

product is junk
I bought the tetra whisper 10i and in two weeks the motor went out in it. Thankfully it was in my isolation tank which no fish were in at the time.

NOT a whisper AT ALL
I bought this filter and it is horribly load. When I'm sitting in my living room it sounds like I am on the river with the water hitting the rock. I hate it because it is not soothing at all.
I have read that many people who have purchased this product had to rig it up somehow not to be so loud.

There is better filters
I have owned crayfish for a while now and I decided to get a ten gallon aquarium for a new one. I decided to buy an inexpensive filter to save money. The first few weeks went by well. I noticed that after a while the power of the filter was very low, I checked it and there was no clogging. I counted on the filter for circulation and oxygen for my crayfish since they need plentiful oxygen. After a while I began noticing tiny white worms on the glass of my aquarium, I later found out that these are detritus worms, a parasitic worm that usually lives in the gravel of an aquarium. They are only supposed to be found in the gravel, only coming on the glass when oxygen levels are low, I made the mistake of ignoring this problem which caused an outbreak of them. I have invested in a new filter (top fin) and I see them less and less every day. I had a bubbler with this filter and the water quality was still poor, I highly recommend a high quality power filter.
