Rated 4 out of 5 by mocket broken glass?
Some people have complained that the tank breaks. This is most often caused by the tank not being on a flat surface or the surface becoming un-flat due to the weight of the tank. Glass is very rigid and even a small surface imperfection can cause cracking. They say to put a pad of linoleum tile material to absorb the imperfections that might exist or develope.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Scot Cracked and emptied within two weeks of setup
I purchased this aquarium to replace a 25 year old 29 gallon set up. The space I had only allowed something of similar width and length, plus I wanted to reuse the stand I had, but go bigger and taller. This setup met my needs. The aquarium seemed well built, with even seams and thick glass. The provided filter and heater also fine. The hood was junk, so purchased a different one. I was quite satisfied overall. Then, two weeks after setting it up, my wife heard water "gushing" and we discovered that the back glass panel had cracked from top to bottom diagonally, and half the water had already emptied out. Bailed the remaining water into buckets, got the fish out and mopped up water, pulled up carpet and got the space heater going to dry the carpet. Then, I called Petsmart Customer Care and they told me that the tank had a lifetime warranty and to return it to the store for a replacement. Within an hour I had the new kit and started setting it up. In spite of the problems, I am very satisfied and impressed with the response by Petsmart. The new setup has been in place for a week and no issues so far. I'm hoping that the first tank was just a fluke. But, I now have a water sensor alarm next to the tank and check it regularly for any signs of a crack or leak.

I have had this tank for only 8 weeks and I've replaced the filter ( the one that comes with is good for a ten gallon tank) replaced the heater.... the topfin is already dead.....because I replaced the filter the lid no longer fits....and countless other things I've had to do keep my fish happy because this hardware is awful. Build your own set up trust these last couple of reviews this thing is a huge piece of junk!

Rated 1 out of 5 by TheCrazyFishLady I HATE this tank!
I bought this tank to give my baby Angelfish more room to grow. It seemed like a good deal for the price. Since it came boxed up I wasn't really able to look it over before buying it. I wish I would have looked at it first! I was annoyed as soon as I began to set it up. The lid is ridiculous. It's all one piece so the entire thing has to be taken off any time you need to clean. There's no way to add extra filtration, or upgrade to a larger filter because the stupid lid has a pre-cut hole. It's just big enough for the filter it comes with, which is a bit small for this size tank. The lid cannot be modified unlike the other tanks I've had. Then there's the tiny feeding hole which sits right above the center brace. All the fish food sticks to it so it constantly has to be cleaned off. I'm not crazy about the heater either. There are no numbers on it so getting an exact temperature is a guessing game. My particular heater never adjusts when I turn the knob. I can't get it to maintain any temperature other than 82 degrees, which is a bit higher than I like. I prefer to keep my tanks at about 78 degrees. I've thought about just purchasing a different hood and heater but I'd rather spend my money on getting a new tank altogether. I wouldn't recommend this tank to anyone.
