Top Fin Premium Quality Aquarium Gravel
This review is specific to the Top Fin black gravel, not the kind with the bright colored pieces in it. Couldn't find the regular black gravel on here. But I'm sure it's the same stuff in both bags.
I find that the bag contains a lot of sandy residue. If I wanted sand, I would buy sand instead of gravel. My major problem is that the color wears off the pieces of gravel and it makes the gravel look gray or white. It either wears off after a short time, or as I just found with 2 new bags-the gravel comes that way, lots of it with the color worn off already! I highly discourage the use of Top Fin gravel that is color treated. Also, one small bag is over 5 dollars! I got much better results with the black gravel from the other major pet store chain. The gravel in the attached picture is brand new Top Fin "black" gravel, straight out of the bag, all I did was rinse it. Notice how poor the color is, it's supposed to be black but has lots of faded pieces.

Nice rock bedding
These rocks look very nice in the bottom of the aquarium. I've had nothing but positive experiences with this product. The color lasts and cleaning the tank is easy with these rocks.

I just recently got a five gallon tank for my Betta, Mew, and I got this gravel to go with it. It provides just enough color to brighten up the tank without being too bright. I would definitely recommend this product to any fish owner! My fishy seems to love it too!

Good gravel, color fades.
I got this gravel for my Betta fish, Sushi II's tank. It works well, holds the decoration up, hides the fish tank funk well, but the color is starting to wear. I've only had the gravel two months, so it's annoying that the black coloring is wearing off. It does make it harder to find my fish sometimes, as he is dark purple/blue and blends with the gravel well. It rinses and cleans easy enough, although next time, I will probably opt for a natural color where the paint won't fade/chip away.
