Rated 1 out of 5 by 2CaTsUTAH I was looking for an alternative to clay litter and the sales rep at the store said he swears by this stuff. Blue Buffalo has a good name so I decided to give it a try. Got home and noticed that it had a good smell and the 2 cats took to it with no problems. I was disappointed at the first scooping on how the wet litter clumps fell apart. Not just a little, but disintegrated unless you wanted to scoop out a shovel full of littler to keep it in tact. The other issue is my cats paws were stained brown from digging in it. This stuff tracks horrible also so plan on sweeping after each use. I am going to try another brand. :/ The only reason I gave it one star is because the site makes you give it at least 1 star.

For my older male tabby, I wanted an easier litter to scoop and keep clean because of my busy school schedule. Previously, I had used blue buffalo's walnut pellet litter, and before that it was Feline Pine's pellet litter, but the time it took to scoop on a daily basis was too much. The Blue buffalo litter had decent ratings and because I was somewhat satisfied by its pellet litter, I decided I'd try it out. At first, it was a relief to take 5 minutes daily to easily scoop out the clumps. It seemed great until I realized that my cat's feet (which have the cutest little white socks) had be stained dark by the litter, and that he had been tracking this all around the floor by his litter box. The dust from the litter was clinging to the sides of the litterbox as well. Additionally, if I missed a day of scooping, the smell of the litter box seemed like I hadn't cleaned it in weeks. Over time I have gotten more and more fed up with this litter, noticing things like the mold spots and crumbling clumps, and now I'm in search of a new brand.
In conclusion, if you want a cat litter that demands a no excuses daily scooping, floor cleaning, and cat-foot washing, this litter is for you.

My kitties love it! The Blue Buffalo rep warned me that it may take a little getting used to, sort of like weening them off, but I decided to take a chance and have them switch immediately from clay litter to this.
They had absolutely no problem and they go frequently, several times a day.
I love the way it smells, looks, and most importantly, I love that my cats love it. I noticed minimal staining, on both of my cats' white paws, but I don't really care too much.
A+++ Blue Buffalo!

I'm seeing quite a bit of bad reviews, but I've had cats all my life and I've tried numerous litters. This, so far has been the best. Now I had no problem w/clay until my senior cat, just prior to his death began eating his litter. After getting our kitten, I wanted to make sure if there were ever any stomach ailments, no clay would be eaten. I am a complete neat freak but ALL LITTER tracks, so if you don't like it then a cat isn't for you. I also have not seen the paw staining others are mentioning unless there's a moisture issue in your home preventing the litter from totally drying. As far as the clumping, as long as it's scooped within 24 hours it's great, now I was ill and didn't scoop for 2 days and there was a small issue with a couple clumps breaking apart, but again, I've seen the same with clay. As far as odor, I use the Alpine Mountain scented version of this and I smell NOTHING but that except for the one time I was neglectful. It's waste folks, as the wife of a plumber, I assure you, nothing is gonna mask it. However I found the odor I did smell was far less distasteful than that of wet paper litter and clay...I wished they made this scented one in the bigger bag!
