Top Paw Deluxe Telescoping Pet Ramp
Good when modified
We purchased this ramp for our two aging Golden Retrievers after researching several ramps. First impression was that it was built well and a good purchase. We still believe that with a couple exceptions. First, the non-skid surface is fairly rough, but not as excessive as some reviews indicate. However, the first time our Golden's used the ramp the surface was permanently marred and even got holes from a nervous dog trying to get his grip when walking up. The non-skid surface is just a sheet of self adhesive grip tape like you see on some stairs. We ended up removing the grip tape and purchasing a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet (berber style) from the bulk roll at the local hardware store and glued that to the surface. Now the dogs do not slip and their paws even get slightly wiped prior to entering the car.
The second issue was the snap that holds the two pieces together broke the first time we tried to use it.
Overall product is built well, easy to use and will last with our modification.

I am amazed at how strong and light this ramp is. I expected something this light to be much less substantial and something this strong to be much heavier. Allison is our 80-pound Lab, and she took right to it without much coaxing.
I read other reviews that were concerned about the sandpaper-like surface. I don't think it's going to be an issue. It needs some texture to keep Allison from slipping as she walks up and down it. The texture is any rougher than the concrete sidewalks she walks on every day.
It extends and collapses easily enough and I expect to get several years of use out of it. This was a good purchase.

We were looking for a ramp to help our Bernese get into the SUV since he is gaining weight daily it seems. We took about 15 to 20 min of walking him up and down offering treats and he quickly was able to go both up and down without problem. He is a bit afraid to come down- and needs encouragement but did just fine. It's lightweight and easy to fold so looking forward to using regularly. I also am not fond of the sandpaper type covering and will recover as some others have suggested in the reviews. Overall very pleased.

Working out great!
This ramp is sturdy, easy to use. You do have to watch your fingers, so the ramp doesn't slide open with your fingers in the way. Just be sure to keep it horizontal until you're ready to slide it open. I like the fact that it is longer than most other ramps, so it isn't as steep, especially if you have a pickup truck. The dogs (2 huskies) feel safe on it. The plastic one can slip off the tailgate, but this one doesn't.
