Bret Michaels Pets Rock™ Spiked Ring Dog Toy
Not as durable as it looks
I got this toy for my Boston terrier thinking it looked durable and would withstand his chewing. I also figured the spikes may be good for stimulating his gums and help remove plaque from his teeth.
Lesson learned from this? Just because it looks tough, doesn't mean it is tough.
Within the first half hour of getting it he had taken off about 8 of the spikes and from i can figure, ate about 3 of them. And he's taken off a good dozen since then. I wouldn't advise using this as a chew toy, and definitely don't let your dog play with this unsupervised, especially if they are agressive chewers or players.
Despite the flaws i still recommend this toy. It's a great tugging toy, and it's great for a game of fetch. It's really funny watching my dog chase after it if I roll it on the floor, too.
I have mixed feelings about this toy, but my dog loves it, so i guess it even out.

Do not leave your dog alone with this toy
The label clearly states " toys are meant for you and your pet to enjoy together". That said, my 8 month old Blue Heeler was in the same room with us and appeared to be playing with this toy, which is a full 8" across and 1" thick, with nubby spikes. It gives the appearance of a chew toy. THAT IS NOT THE CASE. My dog had it for only a few minutes and had chewed several pieces off; unfortunately she swallowed them in the process. I examined the toy later and found I could tear pieces of it off with my bare hands. This toy only appears good for a game of catch, nothing else.

Our dog Parker, a terrier mix, loves this toy. It's pretty hard to find toys that he can't destroy immediately. This one comes without tags or seams or little pieces he can chew off. It is a great toy. It should last quite a while.
