Rated 3 out of 5 by mdance Ok for buffing nails but not for trimming them.
My clippers broke so I thought I'd try this as I've seen people recommend these.
It works as it should with the buffing piece however the other piece where you can use the heavier sandpaper pieces does not work at all. Maybe the buffer piece would work ok for smaller dogs but it does nothing on a larger dog's nails. The sandpaper pieces are replaceable which is good as they will wear down. The paper slides on over the rotating piece however they are not a good fit so once you start using the trimmer, they slide off after about 10 seconds so you have to stop each time to fix it.
Also although my dog has no problem with grooming of any sort, she does not like this trimmer. Although she lies still while I use it, this is due to her being well trained and I can see that this trimmer stresses her out. I think the fact that it hums and the constant starting and stopping due it coming apart after 10 seconds doesn't help. Even working as it should, it takes way longer to sand down the nail vs just clipping a nail so the overall process is drawn out.
I will have to buy new clippers and return to what works for us.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Snowood nice idea
My old nail grinder died after 30 years of service. Everything now is much lighter weight. Which is good. The light on the Sunbeam is a great idea but certainly would not light up a room but then it's only supposed to light up the nail area. I did not like it since when I applied pressure on the nail grinder to the nail, the wheel slowed down tremendously. My dogs are used to a grinder and I try to get the nails done as quickly as possible. We do nails every week Someone who is trying this for the first time and is very gentle should have no problems.
