Petlinks Mystery Motion Concealed-Mouse Cat Toy
This toy is just horrible. The motor is too weak. If my 3 month old kitties put the slightest pressure on the stick or feathers, the whole thing stops moving. It doesn't have the strength to tug it out from under their paws, let alone pull against their claws. The "fast" speed is barely moving. My husband saw it and said, "What's slow like? A dead bird?" Truly, it hardly moves at all on slow.
Also, the fabric covering the whole thing is a slick nylon like material, like a ski parka or tent cover. It doesn't bend much, so the cats can't really see the movement of the ball underneath. All they can see is the feathers poking out. And the feathers are attached to the stick with a bendy piece, so sometimes the feathers disappear under the fabric altogether. Perhaps this is supposed to be intriguing to the cats. And it probably would if the whole thing moved fast enough to pique their interest. But it's just too slow and weak. I'm taking it back tomorrow.

I have a 3 year old cat and I work long hours so I wanted something that could help to entertain my cat while I am gone. My cat has always liked to pounce on the covers and chase feathers on a string so I thought this would be a great toy for him. It was. The fabric is a think nylon that prevents his claws from getting caught in it and provides just the right amount of movement to pique my cats interest. The feathers stick out just enough to be seen while it is moving around but occasionally they will disappear under the fabric which my cat seems to like. It is a little noisy so I would not leave it on over night (or for any very long period of time). An hour here and there seems to keep my cat's attention and get him moving though and I can tell he likes it. I have seen some negative reviews on this product and I think that it is important to know the type of play that your cat likes. Some like to climb, some like food oriented play, some like to chase, and some like to pounce. This toy probably will not be great for every pet but my cat loves it and I am glad that I got it. Things that I think would improve this toy is a timer or motion sensor to activate it when your cat is near or at set intervals to both save battery and the novelty of the toy (I think if it is on for extended periods of time kitty would get used to it and stop playing with it). Also some suction cups or velcro to hold the toy in place on tile or carpet. My cat has grabbed the feathers and dragged the whole mechanism across the house and I am sure he will eventually break it this way. I taped it down for the time being and it is working fine.

Save Your Money!
I bought this for my very playful 1-year-old cat. She watched it for a while & then walked away. No matter how carefully I attached the mouse, it always fell off within a few revolutions. As other reviewers mentioned, the "mouse bump" was barely visible through the fabric. I already have this back in the box & ready to return to the store.

Kitten is crazy for it!
I bought this toy for my 6-month old cat yesterday. The first time we played with it, she was a bit confused, but since then has been swatting, pouncing and this very moment is diving underneath the fabric at the mouse toy. She loves it, and it's better than swatting at my feet under the covers at night!
This product has some poor reviews, and I have to say my product is great. The fabric is not cashmere, but it isn't "cheap" -- the material is shiny to attract cats. Nothing has broken yet (over 24 hours) and my only complaint is the noise. When the mouse it trapped my the cat, the motor clicks. It is a bit loud, but my cat loves playing with it, so a bit of clicking is okay.
