very poorly made
Bought this starter tank after looking at several tanks this size. It was on sale, had led lighting, and everything else to start a tank. After cleaning my rocks and getting my décor ready we filled the tank. Had to get the water from downstairs and I was wondering what was taking so long to fill it. Well, It was leaking from the bottom. Very disappointed I took the water out and the rocks. Of course, it was 9:02 pm and Pet Smart was closed. Very frustrated since I was excited to see the tank set up. Will not be getting a MarineLand tank again. Will look for something else. Only really wanted it because I liked the idea of the white/blue led light. Not worth it. Just glad we noticed the leak before it was set for a couple of days and then come home after a long day and your fish are laying on the rocks and water is dripping from your ceiling. Don't buy this product. Should have read the reviews before purchasing.

Fair but some disappointments
I bought the tank to save money on buying a heater to go with another kit that caught my eye, but there are some disappointments with this kit. First, the good things I found in it.
I'm especially pleased with the heater so far and the lights work pretty great. The temperature was just right within a 24 hour period. (I'm not sure when exactly it was ready, as I wasn't home much since I set it all up.) It's a lottt of fun turning the lights on for the tank and watch my aquatic critters enjoy themselves. My beta especially loves the water current made by the water filter, which seems to work quite well, too.
As for the downsides, the extension tube for the filter (connecting the bottom part of the filter to filter the water and the part going into the actual filter) was about one or two inches too long, meaning that the tubing overall ended up being too tall for the height of the tank. I had to cut the tubing in half to get it to fit. The plastic lid for the tank seems too flimsy and thin to attach to the clips provided and I was/am too afraid that I'd break it. I also will have to make the hole in the lid for the heater's wire bigger so I can raise it up higher so I can add more water to the tank, more out of preference than necessity. (It has a maximum water level so be sure to pay attention to that!)
This all said and done, I can look over the extra work and 'disappointing details' after watching my (three) African Dwarf frogs and my (one) Beta fish for not much more than an hour and can see just how much they love their new tank. If you don't mind making adjustments and want to save a bit of money, it's a fairly decent.

Bought this 10 gallon tank for my 2 goldfish who outgrew their last aquarium. The hardest thing for me to figure out were the clips for the cover to fit on the aquarium & snapping the lid on. The filter is much louder than I anticipated. Have had bio-wheel tanks before & they were so quiet you didn't know they were even running. Little disappointed with that. Altogether, a nice tank, Also love the LED lights that change colors from daylight to moonlight.
