KONG® Travel Dog Carrier
I've heard from others that kong made quality pet products, but this carrier isn't worth the plasctic that it's made of. We just got our 12 week old puppy, and in under 2 weeks time, she's been able to escape by playing with the 21 cheap locking tabs. the clips that hold the crate together are convenient for cleaning, but are very weak and allow gaps in the seam when carrying with the handle. Pet Porter and Remington brand crates are better made, and use screws and wing nuts instead of clips. I'm planning to return this weekend and would not recommend Kong crates to anyone.

This carrier is very sturdy and roomy but recommend for cats and small dogs. Outside plastic construction is way sturdier/thicker than other carriers I have had, and love the versatility of the front grill. It opens on the side or flips in 2 parts up... and sustains itself open. The only thing I don't like are these yellow plastic pieces that go inserted into the side/back lock snaps that secure the carrier is closed. These are made out of plastic and can easily break when putting it together. Wish they were made from metal or a sturdier plastic. I bought 4 for my kitties. oh...and I find this carrier attractive.

A Kennel our little dog likes!
We have tried several kennels and none of them seemed small enough to make Bruce feel safe. (I think the cat torments him at night lol.) This is perfect at night for sleeping or if we need to go out during the day.

Awesome! Would buy again!
We bought two Intermediate Kong Travel Carriers (and option wheels) to transport our Basenji and Beagle to Costa Rica with us. They were accepted on Delta Airlines with one minor modification, we had to install metal screws/nuts on all sides to add an additional level of security to the carrier. This was an easy modification since there are already predrilled holes on the carrier so all we had to do was add the screws/nuts.
The carrier has a pull handle so we also purchased the optional locking casters and were able to pull the carriers from the car and through the airport with our luggage bungeed on top. The carriers are now situated in our living room and bedroom and the dogs (and cats) use them freely as a bed to sleep in.
I also want to comment on the two negative remarks… we purchased our carriers directly from the Petsmart store. There was nothing to “put together”… everything was already done for us. Possibly the reason other people had trouble is that they ordered online and were not careful or did not follow directions correctly when putting the carrier together? Just a thought.
