This fish is pretty unique for a Petsmart fish. Its pretty hardy. It prefers to sit at the bottom of the tank but will swim to the middle and top evey now and again. It really likes pellet food and live plants. I planted those bulbs that grow and it constantly picks at and eats the roots that are shooting out of the bulb. Make sure that you provide it with lots of places to reside and hide in. Sometimes when it eats it will drag its food into its cave and eat, it's pretty funny. I recommend this fish!

I got 2 of the Leporinus Fasciatus a little over a year ago. At the time I had 4 Angel fish, 3 Gourami's, 2 blackfin cat fish, 3 black skirts and a pleco. The Leporinus Fasciatus were small and I was advised they were not aggressive, that is why I went and bought them, but within a month they killed all my Angelfish, then a month later they killed the Gourami's and 2 of the black skirts. I now only have the 2 Leporinus Fasciatus, 2 Blackfin catfish, 1 black skirt and my pleco. I wouldn't really recommend them if you are putting in a tank already established. They are pretty and very active. My 2 weren't the same size when I bought them but small and still aren't the same size but my biggest one is approx. 13 inches or more. I do have a 125 gal tank so there is plenty of room for 6 fish. Sad thing is no one wants them when you want to get rid of them.
