Natural ULTRAMIX® Dog Food
Solved many problems
One of our dogs had elimination gland problems; the other, a mixed breed with Dachshund in the mix (very heavy, long body with very short legs) had terrible pain problems from inflammatory issues with his back and legs. The vet specialist suggested ongoing pred and pain meds and predicted very negative outcome. With encouragement from our own vet, I started looking at inflammation as being an underlying problem. I wanted to eliminate grain altogether, adding fish oil and fish in place of poultry. I found this food and the one dog's elimination gland problem totally disappeared. The other dog's pain issues are dramatically reduced and he has returned to a normally happy and active life with low doses of a very mild pain med. Wouldn't change it for the world!

No More UTIs
My mixed breed dog started getting urinary track infections at a very young age. We dealt with this for about a year when my previous vet suggested a grain free food. Mia was on Blue Buffalo Wilderness(salmon) for several years. I tried switching her to another grain free food with less protein and she immediately got a UTI. I started doing a little research because Blue is very expensive and even though it was a Salmon formula, all of the Wilderenss as some form of chicken in it (not a fan). I looked at the Duck formula of Castor and Pollux. You get more pounds of the dog food for less money per pound. Plus the food has 38% protein. I was sold. The vet thinks the acid in the food is balancing out her PH in her urine. My dog had zero issues with the switch as well!

My Dog is now STERIOD FREE!
We LOVE this food! My Dog, a lab mix, developed severe allergies when about 2 years old. His allergies were so bad he was constantly licking and chewing himself hairless, rubbing his face raw, and compulsively shaking his head to the point of damaging his ears. My beautiful dog now looked as if he had mange, but it was determined to be an extremely bad case of allergies, and since it coincided with seasonal hay fever and we live in rural north Texas, it was thought that nothing could really be done but put him on a daily dose of prednisone. However, the side effects of the medicine caused bladder problems where my 2 year old lab Morph couldn't eliminate properly, and would sometimes wet himself while laying in his bed. The prednisone wasn't even curing this allergy problem either, because he still had inflammation in his ears that never went away no matter what I tried. I was told to add yet another medicine, benadryl to Morph's routine, which now caused behaviour changes, looped out dog. Morph was suffering, looked like death, and I was clueless as to what to do to save my dog. I had always fed him what I thought was a good well respected premium dog food no fillers or corn, so no way that was part of the problem, right? It wasn't until I saw another vet that explained allergies were cumulative and his food could be part of the problem. So it was when we switched to Castor & Pollux Ultramix Grain Free Duck that Morph's life began to change. His hair started to grow back, he stopped chewing licking and rubbing himself raw, and he stopped compulsively shaking his head. We were able to wean him off the steroids, and then the benadryl. My Dog has his life back!!! I am so grateful for this food, and for the care of my new vet to help bring Morph back to a life full of vitality. I would never dream of feeding him anything else. We are also very careful about any table scraps, the old philosophy that a dog can eat anything, or "Labs are like roving trash cans" could not be more wrong. He still occasionally will need benadryl during high seasonal allergy times when his eyes start showing signs of an allergy attack, but the dose is low, it is not daily administered, and he quickly bounces back to his old self. I credit Castor & Pollux for saving my dog from a life of medication and misery, and probably adding years, good QUALITY years to his life. Yes this food may seem expensive, but the cost is more than made up in reduced vet bills and medication expense. Worth every penny and then some!
