Tetra® SafeStart Aquarium Cycling Water Conditioner
this products work
will give a little history to show how well this product works. I had a 40 gal that was almost cycled I used another product and was not impressed I was using a fish in cycle with giant danios for about a month. Thought it was safe to add clown loaches big mistake 2 out of the 3 caught ich and died. I also set up a 55 gal and borrowed some media from the 40 gal as well as used the other product again not impressed was getting ammonia and nitrites I then added safestart to the 55 gal and with in 5 days it was cycled ammonia and nitrite where both 0 and nitrate was at about 10. Back to the 40 gal so I had to treat with meds which wiped out my bacteria colony and had to start from scratch I did some large water changes and ran carbon for about a week. Must mention that at this point I had 1 clown loach and 3 small danios. I then tested the water and ammonia was .25 nitrite was 0 and nitrate was 0. Added the safestart and 4 days later my readings are ammonia 0 nitrite 0 ammonia went up to 30ish. More importantly the clown loach which is sensitive to water quality never ever showed any signs of stress and actually started feeding in the open and grazing on the bottom of the tank during this process. All things that he never did since being added to the tank. Flat out works I would by extra and dose an extra time maybe a couple of days after the initial dose not required but it's what I did. Also placed several emails to tetra support and was answered immediately

Totally worth every penny!
This product is amazing! I have a 30 gallon tank and I inadvertently killed all my BB doing a weekly water change and forgetting to add conditioner to the water. I tested for nitrates twice to be sure in fact they were at zero from 20 ppm the day before. The tank had just completed its fishless cycle started 3 to 4 weeks earlier. I was so jazzed to finally have a cycled tank and then turn around to find id killed it that fast. After calming down and redosing the tank back up to 4 ppm ammonia I realised I had a bottle of this product stashed from a few weeks earlier. The bottle was 100 ml and enough to treat 100 gallons and I used all of it. I shook it real good and squirted it right into both sponge filters and sucked up some tank water and swished it around to get every last drop of it in my tank. Then I read that 4 ppm ammonia was too much for the safe start to survive. I panicked again! Instead of waiting I immediately tested for nitrates and got a reading of 10-20 ppm!!! I retested after an hour or two and still had 20 ppm nitrates. So at this point I knew the BB would survive. I tested for ammonia around 6 hours later and ammonia had dropped all the way to .25 ppm from 4ppm!!! Tested for nitrites and got 0 and nitrates were almost up to 40 ppm. I am truly amazed with this product. This was instant cycling!! Make sure you get the stuff with the green cap and check expiration date. My bottle was 7 months from expiration. Super product for your buck!!!

Awesome without a Wait
This was a very amazing product! I'm 14 so I really didn't want to wait any longer for my fish! so I went and picked up a bottle of this and one guppy! while the guppy bag was floating I poured the entire bottle in like it says to do. It clouded the water, but immediately it began to go away! going back tomorrow to get another fish!

Amazing! Boot-up your aquarium!
I fussed around for a while with trying to get natural tank cycling going in my small 2 gallon tank, and never got it to take. In frustration, I tried a bottle of SafeStart. In less than 24 hours, all my water parameters were perfect - no detectable ammonia, no nitrites, and increased nitrates. I didn't believe the test results, so I ran them again the next day. Same thing. Perfect! I wouldn't even consider starting a freshwater aquarium again without SafeStart. For me, it was magic in a bottle.
