Tetra® Whisper In Tank Power Aquarium Filters
Great for Betta
The filter that came with my National Geographic Aqua Oasis 8.5 gallon set-up was way too strong; the current was blowing my plants around and I couldn't even put the fish in. It's a shame because that's the main part of the set-up and it was unsuitable and I had to buy something else. I started out with a Topfin filter, which was also too strong, and then I tried this one. The water spillover is gentle and for the first time, Jonah, my Betta, is swimming on the side of the tank where the filter is -- even near the top and at the bottom. It's quiet and seems to do a good job keeping the water clean, but this is a review less than 24 hours after putting it in, so I can't speak for long-term usefulness. The filter media is very easy to replace and it comes already pre-made and relatively inexpensive. If you are housing a Betta and you need a gentle underwater filter, please give this one a try. I will say that Petsmart was very good about letting me replace the filter that came with the tank set-up.

This is a good filter. I got it for my 5 gallon tank with my platy that is going to have babies. Its working good for now by keeping the water clean and removing the ammonia.
