Yes they are greasy and smelly but the greenies pill pockets are the same in my opinion. They need to be fatty and high calorie to appeal to the dog. I prefer them to the greenies pockets because they are smaller so you get more for your money. I am a dog sitter and I watch two dogs that take daily medication. They both love the GNC pill wraps. I recommended them to their owners as well. Tip: put the pill inside the wrap, then squeeze the ends together. They'll just think it's a yummy treat.

Frankly, these smell horrible and my half-beagle thought so too. He wouldn't even eat a tiny bit without a pill in it. Tried several times to give him some without a pill and he turned his nose up at it every time. Don't know about the chicken version. We are sticking to Greenies (thankfully, I bought some too --- I would give no stars, but can't --- I will mention that my dog has ALWAYS been a picky eater, so these may work for your dog if it is not so picky). Just not for us.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mslissap Greasy, crushed, hard and diarrhea - don't buy.
I recently had my youngest dane spayed. She needed pain medication and antibiotics - that added up to 7 pills a day, four in the morning and three at night. I got two bags of 30, one bacon and one chicken flavor. The bacon flavor bag I used first - the wraps were hard as a rock and very difficult to get the capsule into. Not only that but more than half of the bag was crushed and unusable for their intended purpose. I ended up giving these to my other dogs as treats, basically wasting more than half the bag. They left a brown residue on my fingers (who knows what that was!) and the last layer of wraps in the bag were extremely greasy/oily. I hoped the chicken flavor would be better - they were less hard and easier to use. But still over half the bag was smashed, still the brown residue, still the greasy bottom layer. Once again I have the crushed ones to my other dogs as treats ... and they ended up giving my other dane diarrhea. Bottom line .... buy the Greenies pill pockets instead.
