by KountryKat19 Adequate surface water movement
I researched several powerheads before deciding upon this one. Some were much cheaper, so cost was not the deciding factor. Some were also more powerful. This is adequate for my needs ~ surface water agitation via water flow and aeration. I have a Fluval FX5 running on a 125 gallon goldfish tank. The output is high but I had a surface water dead spot on the opposite end of my outflow. Tidbit of knowledge: it is the agitation of the surface water that precipitates healthy gaseous exchange. I have owned another powerhead in the past and while it was more powerful in output, it also was much more audible. This is VERY quiet and puts out about a 5-6 inch stream of "bubbled" water. This worked exactly as I needed it to ~ agitate the left half of my 125 gallon tank without a high flow. I recommend, but the choice is yours dependent upon your needs.

30 gallon tank
I was hoping for a more powerful stream and was interested in the variable bubbles from large bubble to small, but it wasn't anything impressive.
I found it very bulky, taking up too much room. The flow was not as powerful as I had hoped since I was hoping to get a larger aquarium in the future. This model is rated for a 30-60 gallon aquarium.
This thing would do great for a 20-25 gallon tank. Yet with the size so large, it would be an eye sore. Even with my size of tank, it is an eye sore.
I did like the fact that I could remove it from it's bracket which is attached to the window in order to try and hide it. I have yet to figure out how to hide such a bulky item.

I bought this powerhead for one of my 55 gallons that has one of my adult male RES turtles and it is amazing! I am planning on getting one for each of my 3 other turtle tanks in the future. The best thing is they do not run on an air pump so not air hose and no noise. Lots of bubbles and my turtle loves to play in it and my breeding platys enjoy it as well.
