If you compare the nitrite ranges on this test to the API marine master test kit, this one goes higher. That means down in the low range where you want your tank to be, it is a bit hard to read, but if you need the upper range it's perfect and totally readable. When my nitrites spiked (due to incomplete cycling), they were higher than the regular kit could even measure, but these strips went high enough let me see progress as I did water changes to lower the levels to where the bacteria could catch up.

These test strips are not at all accurate.

In general these test strips work as intended. However, with that being said, they tend to read high and vary slightly from strip to strip. Our new 10 gallon tank had a severely high ph level upon start up. Adding (ph down) at 2 ml between tests it still didn't show any change. Using the traditional test drops method, the vials showed an accurate change as the strips did not. After a massive (no fish involved) 20 ml dose of ph down, the strip reacted but still read high by 1 full scale.
I would only recommend these If you wanted to test on a budget.

These strips are very easy to use however, not very accurate. Far more accurate results can be had using a liquid test kit. For a little more than 10 bucks a liquid test kit can be had with better results.
