Rated 4 out of 5 by turnsouth I fell in love with this when I saw it on the shelf at the store, and when I found out it was animated, all the better. But I do have to agree with the other reviewer, the bridge action is far too loud, and almost violent in it's operation. Pretty much all the fish kept clear of it. Adjusting the airflow does not effect the aggressiveness of the animation, just the frequency. Thinking that if the manufacturer added a tension adjustment for the bridge, that would help. What I ended up doing was to insert a small stone under the bridge, next to the air outlet, the size of one that lifts the bridge enough to allow most of the air to bypass it. What a difference! The fish now love it, over and under they go all day long. The bride now "lofts" gently up and down (albeit only a small amount compared to the original operation). I was worried that I may have to shut off the air to this beautiful ornament, but with the slight adjustment it will be in my aquarium until the day I change themes (if ever).

Rated 3 out of 5 by Nipo sound scares fish!
I put it in into my aquarium last night with the airline attached to make the bridge go up and down. As I was watching it with excitement and amusement I noticed that I could hear the bridge thumping with every cycle. In the morning I noticed that the fish clustered in far corner of the tank, as far as possible from the new toy. After I turned the bubbler off which made the bridge motion stop the fish started swimming around the tank freely. Apparently, it's too loud for fish, the designer should have put some sort of a damper. Aesthetically, it looks beautiful so I'll leave it in but no motion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FintasticReviews After purchasing this for my 10 gallon aquarium and not planning to use it with a airstone, I thought the whole point of the decoration would be useless. Turns out I was wrong! The castle has a good sized opening on the lower right-side that acts as a cave, if you do not use the airstone. This provides fish with a cozy spot to hide in if feeling unsafe or insecure. My Zebra Danios LOVE to swim all around the castle, especially under the bridge itself. No, you do NOT need to use a airstone with this product for the effect to be tremendous. This worked in well with my other medieval-like decor.
The size is around a foot long, maybe a little less, so trying to fit this into ANY aquarium less than 10 gallons would be a challenge. There ARE a few sharp edges towards the bottom, but covering these with gravel will solve the problem instantly. For anything bigger then a 10-gallon aquarium, and for a more classical feel, I'd recommend this product anytime. Although, I wish the price was lowered somewhat, but because it can work with a airstone, I suspect that to be the reason for the higher-end price.
