Title says it all, sometimes the plant bulbs don't sprout, because they are expired. After you made sure they were recently put on stock, put them in your aquarium, make sure that the bulbs sink. If they float, there is a good chance that the bulb is dead. After that, just wait a few days, and you should see a little 'sapling" that looks like a thick needle.

by fishfrenzy2 New to plants. Amazed!!!
I am new to aquarium plants but have had my 29g up and running for about 3 years now and I was amazed with these plants! The pictures I attached were taken at 30 days from introduction to the tank (the time when they are guaranteed to have some growth). Well my bulbs have done great! I got 6 bulbs (package says there are 4) and all 6 are growing and doing well without any type of fertilizer, additive, or CO2. I would highly recommend. TIP: CHECK TO SEE HOW LONG THE PACK HAS BEEN IN THE STORE. SHORT SHELF LIFE IS BETTER THAN LONG SHELF LIFE.

I bought a package of these plant bulbs reluctantly thinking I might get 1 or 2 to live? Wow, how I was surprised when 5 out of 6 have thrived in my two 10 gallon tanks & one 5 gallon tank...two of the plants have grown out the tops of the tank and bloomed! Will be buying more of these for my new 20 gallon tanks...YAHOO, can't wait. Most of my Topfin products have been excellent.

I followed the instructions on the packaging and ended up with 3 molded bulbs.
Bulb #1 - sprouted and grew like a weed. In less than 2 weeks it grew about 18 inches
Bulb #2 - after about 2 weeks it sprouted but still hasn't grown
Bulb #3 -I think it has algae (black beard algae possibly). - I tossed it
Bulb #4 - white mold/fungus. i not sure. - I tossed it
Bulb #5 - white mold/fungus. i not sure. - I tossed it
