Ghost shrimp, also known as "glass shrimp" due to their transparent bodies, are an interesting addition to your tropical aquarium. They are bottom swimmers and walk along plant life collecting small particles of food that hasn't been eaten by fish. They also help keep the tank clean by eating algae, and with their transparent bodies, you can actually see the food they've eaten being digested.
You will see shrimp swimming at the bottom of your aquarium or climbing on the décor.
This is a characteristic of shrimp and means they need to shed their outer skin in order to grow.
Juvenile shrimp can be kept in a general community aquarium, but as adults they may harass their tankmates and should be kept by themselves or with other large, tough fish.
Shrimp must be fed sinking pellet foods that they can find at the bottom of the tank.
For optimum health, feed your shrimp as much food as he will consume in 1-3 minutes, twice a day.
