African Featherfin Catfish
Overall Nice Fish
I was really attracted to this fish at the store so i bought it. It was about 2 inches. In the store he was very lively. When i brought him home to my 20 gallon all he did was hide by the heater and he didn't eat (that I saw) for about a week. He never came out from behind the heater though. So i bought another catfish for him to have a friend. They stay on opposite sides of the tank but still interact sometimes. They are very territorial. I still love my catfish. They go wild at feeding time and it's very fun to watch. And my first catfish, Jarvys, has about tripled in size. He is huge!! My other catfish, Bandyt, is only about 3 inches but they get along for the most part. Sometimes Bandyt will come over and sleep in Jarvys's plant. So overall they are very cool fish, they're just not very active.

My featherfin is definitely one of my favorites. He likes to chill at the bottom of my filter (which is near the bottom of the tank) and among the live and fake plants. He also grew very fast. I got him about six months ago when he as about an inch and a half, and now he's pushing 5 inches. He does get aggressive with my other fish sometimes, especially my upside down catfish, but overall he's a pretty cool fish and I would certainly recommend getting one if you have a decent sized tank

Very nice fish but needs big tank with caves
I recently bought an african featherfin catfish from my local petsmart and put him in my 60 gallon tank, when i got him he was only 4" but after 2 months he has grown to a massive 8"! he gets along with all of my goldfish and guppys and also my 12" pleco but for some reason is afraid of my 3" pictus catfish. Overall this is a wonderful fish who grows surprisingly fast and has odd fears.

This fish is by far my favorite in the tank. Zorro seems to be very happy on his own. He has a little cave that he spends the majority of his time in, but he comes out every once in a while to make sure that the tank is free from algae. I got the smallest catfish they had so that he would not pick on my angelfish, but he has not made a single move towards the platys and angelfish. Occasionally he will chase my pictus catfish out of his cave if they wander into his territory, but otherwise leaves them alone. Absolutely beautiful fish and very relaxing to watch.
