I bought this light a little over 2 years ago and the other day it wouldn't light up anymore. I was a little upset but then realized that it was only the power adapter that went bad. Since the adapter is a separate piece and plugs in to the light cord, it was easily replaceable. I found a new one for about $10 and now the light is working great again. I did look at new lights and could not find one comparable with a built in timer. A little set back on the adapter but easily fixed. I would still recommend this light.

Won't last. Don't let the nice look and features fool you.

Being new to this hobby, this was the first lighting fixture that I purchased for my 46 gallon bow front aquarium. I learned that the lighting that came with the Nat Geo Aquarium wasn't sufficient for growing plants effectively. Hence, I purchased the Nat geo deluxe 24-36 inch lighting. Of course being new to the hobby I was taken back by the pricing for lights. Lol. Nonetheless, these lights brightened my aquarium, had a timer, and was reliable. Today, the lights went out. When in push a button, it just flashes. The unit no longer works. Out of the clear blue sky, just like that!! It no longer works. I am disappointed. I guess I expected a quality product that would last for more than~9 months. When I get my replacement, tomorrow, I will pay a little more money for a known, established brand that will last. To date, I have 8 aquariums. I did purchase another Nat geo light because I hadn't had any problems with my first purchase. I know now to prepare to have to replace a 48 inch fixture in a few months.

Expected an LED to last more than a year. Sorry I spent the extra money for it now.
