I got this and I turned it on. Died 5 days later. Got refund and got a better one. Go with Tetra Brand.

Put this in my 10 gallon, and it is still holding up after 3 months! A lot of people say it doesn't work, but you have to let it heat up for 2 hours. After that, it'll pretty much regulate itself. Sometimes in the cold morning's I'll find that my tank is at 70 instead of the perfect 78 (for bettas). That's pretty much the only "problem". It'll usually stay at 78 throughout the day into the evening though. The design is very nice and sleek, but I still don't know if this is submersible so I keep it at the "minimum" line. I've never experienced temperature fluctuation with this heater, and I think it's because of how slow it heats up. Great product, will definitely buy again for my next tank.

A store employee recommended this for a small 5.5 gal tank I was setting up for the kitchen. There is no temp control on this thing. So you would basically have to monitor it and hope the temps don't fluxuate. Taking it back to the store.

I have a 3.5 Gallon Aquascene Aquarium for my Crowntail Male Betta Fish. I was a little hesitant on purchasing this heater, especially after I read the reviews. I was going to return just to be safe as many people say their water temperature spikes to 90 degrees and cooks the betta but I thought I would put the heater in for a day prior to adding the fish and it works great. My Betta loves it so much! My tank is at a stable 78 degrees perfect for my fish. I recommend this product ONLY if your tank is 3 gallons +. I have heard many things about people using this heater in a 1-gallon tank and having the water be too hot.
