I have 3 of the 10 gallon filters for 3 tanks (2.5, 10, 20). It's a simple filter that really does the job...with the hollowed out sponge, it also gives you the ability to add in some chemical filtration (like carbon, purigen, etc) to aid in the filtration process. One knock is that, over time, the spray bar does clog a bit...just run it under some hot water and it clears out pretty easily.

I love how clean this makes my turtle tank 29 gal. CRYASTAL CLEAR water! Before I was cleaning out the tank every 2-3 days (Exhausting!!!) This was even with the Tera Reptile filter made for turtles. The airflow that this filter puts out is defiantly needed for a turtle tank. This filter has made me a Happy turtle owner! (Top Fin Multi-stage Internal filter 40)

I purchased this filter for the great choice 2.5 gallon glass aquarium. So far I am VERY happy with it! It is very quiet other than the calming waterful noise from the water flowing from the bar. It has kept the aquarium clean for my betta, and the current isn't too strong for him. It's a great product, especially for the money! I highly recommend!!

I have/had three 20 gallon filters and a 40 gallon, I've mostly used them for my turtles and fire bellied toads. I'm only using one of the 20g ones and a 40g for my (half filled) 75 gallon turtle tank. They're okay I guess, My turtles always knocked the spray bar off, and they don't really keep the tank spotless. Turtles are very dirty so it does keep the tank pretty clean for how much waste they produce. The 40 gallon one has some kind of issue that I can't really explain, but I believe it has something to do with the water flow, it (40g) also falls apart very easily (the media 'holder' falls off of the bracket that clings to the glass of the tank). I can't seem to secure it so that it doesn't fall apart. I haven't had many problems with the 20 gallon filters, but I do wish they had an area for intake on the side because my turtles push it down and I can't have it too low because it needs to create a stronger water flow. If I could I'd definitely get a hang on back/power filter but the water level in my turtle tank is too low. They get clogged very easily. I would recommend this, but only to someone with fish that don't produce too much waste.
