National Geographic™ Aquarium Filter
Excellent Product for Paladariums
We bought a CF80 for up to 80 gallon tanks a month ago and are so happy with it we have bought 3 more today. We're using these in custom built Paladariums that house Dart Frogs on the land and fish in the water side of the tank. We've made waterfalls as well. We possibly bought a larger canister filter/pump than needed but the canister filter/pump valves allows us to cut the water flow down to what we need for each situation. We wanted to make sure we got one big enough to account for the lift needed to push the water from the floor to 42" up to the top of the tank and the water pressure still be as strong as needed. This filter (which includes an internal pump) is also great for filtering out things that get knocked into the water by the frogs as well as any fruit flies (that we feed the frogs) that end up in the water. We also don't have to put a pump down in the aquarium/paladarium anymore and now also have excellent outside access to clean or change the filters which is great!! A little improvising with hoses and T fittings and the lines can be split off to make other water features and waterfalls. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent Product CF80
Dead silent. Keeps water crystal clear, media tray contents can be customized, bio balls, ceramic noodles, carbon or floss. Assembly is easy though instructions are not the best. A tip, run the inlet and outlet hoses under hot water before trying to install them on the valves. This will make it super easy!

CF 50, High quality, Parts actually say EHEIM
I purchased the CF 50 for my 37 gallon tank with almost 20 fish in it. With live plants and all of the inhabitants of the tank my water has managed to stay very clear and healthy.
-very quiet: we replaced a power filter with a lot of
water noise. This is the quietest filter I have owned.
-easy setup: It is all very simple, the directions are black and white pictures but youtube "aquarium canister filter setup" and you're set. My first canister filter and it was not overwhelming at all.
-MADE BY EHEIM: This part is important, eheim is a german company that makes canister filters, and good ones at that. They are highly esteemed in the aquarist community. These filters are made for NG and are essentially Eheim.
-All around a great buy! I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to upgrade their system.
Last note, If you currently rely on your filter adding aeration to your water by waterfall effect (like a power filters trickle) you may need to add an air stone. This system is completely closed and no air gets added to the water, you will have to do it by other means.
Hope this helps!

Nat Geo CF50 = Eheim Ecco
This was a fantastic find! I wanted an Eheim as they come highly recommended, no one carried it in store which is important to me in case something happens I can replace it quickly.
I decided to try the Nat Geo canister filter even though I could not find any significant source of information on its performance. PetSmart has a great return policy so I figured I might as well try (and I love Nat Geo). I was so incredibly surprised and happy when I read the manufacturing information and found that it is in fact made by Eheim and is their Ecco model, it's just black instead of green (bonus!). I so wanted Nat Geo products to truly be awesome, and they are!!!
The only con about this system is the self priming does not work well. It is an easy fix though, just blow into the "out port" like a reverse siphon and the system fills and functions beautifully.
